The need for changing who you are arises sometimes in life
when regret for what you have been emerges. For most of our activities and
actions are done based on the appreciation and acceptance of the masses. We all
have different behaviors and interactions towards people, some are appreciated
and accepted (good behaviors) while others are condemned and rejected (bad
behaviors). We are defined based on our actions and these actions are recorded
from our past, changing these actions have an impact In changing ourselves, so
by changing our present, we can neutralize our past and there comes a new life.
Starting a new life where you have been is possible but
slightly difficult, only the people around us can define who we really are, in this
situation one would not only have to change his/her heart but other people’s
hearts also. A person would have to demonstrate guilt for past actions to
reprogram external mindsets. Actions that deserve regrets are always
intentionally committed and unknowingly to the effect they may cause. When we
suffered consequences (effects) and get to know the truth behind our deeds, we
condemn our actions in the first place (regret). Switching to a new environment
with new people makes a fresh new start. It gives an easy and perfect chance of changing who you
are. One would be like a new born baby, innocent with no record of deeds. The
people around would look at you and see a friend they haven’t met yet, in this
situation the only thing to be worried
about is changing your heart.
People face difficulties in changing themselves which can’t
just happen over night by speaking to people or themselves; one has to go
through certain procedures. For example, changing a filthy behavior into
piousness would recommend a person to stop certain behaviors and induces person
into changing companies. Some go through meditations for a specific time before
they can get off their negative minds and addictions. Rehabilitation is a
better way of getting off addictions from drugs, alcohol, sex etc but it
requires different duration based on the addiction being handled. Having a
group therapy and sharing different experiences from the past and discussing
better solutions gives relief and helps in changing people’s mindset which give
a chance of starting a new life.
As no one wants to live and leave their lives with no iconic
reviews, we all want to be remembered by our good deeds. A good person is always someone who regrets
and apologies to people upon wronging them. As from the quote “the best among us are those who seek for
forgiveness” shows that we all make mistakes either intentionally or
unintentionally but being apologetic makes us better. When we are ready to
regret and condemn our past, nature gives us second chance of starting a new
life.
