When i think of making my future good to make the world a better place for me, it seems to be a selfish idea, what of the less fortune ones who don't have hope for tomorrow, they don't have easy access to a good life. Having a quality education seems to be impossible to them which is something we mostly depend on for a better future. Some beg on streets for some money so they can live (they are the most hopeless) while others sell some of their fruits they get from trees or make local products and sell. The problem is that we don't buy products from them because we think there is a better place to get same product, maybe because of the type of cloth they wear or the type of place they do the business.
the population of the less fortune ones is decreasing with the help of some non-governmental organizations like UNICEF, world health organization, first Surat etc, and also some philanthropists. But there is another large portion of these people who don't have access to the aid of these organizations and philanthropists. They live in our neighborhoods and streets, not only organizations and rich people help the less fortune's, do you know that you can change a person's life with just $5 (2,000 Naira). Like if we give like $5 to one person every month, think about the positive change you will cause to these people.
If you see a poor kid staring at a fruit in a shop, the first thing that would come to your mind is "the poor little kid want that fruit but he has no means of getting it", what of if you use a little from your pocket and buy it for him, how much happiness would you cause to him?, it's priceless. Haven't we ever thought of buying stationary items for them (the less fortune ones) which would increase their ability to learn?, or buying fresh clothes for them so they can also look smart and be able to join their other peer's looking good?, or buying some food stuffs for their families so that they can eat healthy foods?, all these can be done with a little from our savings, and if we do any of these things, we are not just making them happy but also making the world a better place for them .
At our university, we have a non profit organization called " National union of NTIC Yobe Ex-Student" it is founded in 2014 by the graduates of NTIC Yobe. Every member donate the least of 250 naira (which is even less than a dollar) every month and the money would be used to help the less fortune ones.
